A little extra support

The Royd Court staff conduct daily checks for everyone as well as providing light maintenance support and a weekly cleaning of the communal areas. The staff are also available to sign-post residents to local services and activities and are always happy to lend a friendly ear! For those who find they need more support, Royd Court provide a Well Being service. This can include doing laundry, ironing, domestic cleaning or going shopping. A companion call can also be arranged to have someone attend a medical appointment with you, if your family is not local. If care support is needed then this can be arranged through external agencies.

Out and about in the local area

Royd Court is set in the little town of Mirfield, which lies between Dewsbury and Huddersfield. Situated by the navigable river Calder, Mirfield town centre is within easy walking distance.

Mirfield is a busy town with an excellent selection of shops, hairdressers', local supermarkets, fish & chip shops, cafés, a library, doctors' surgery and dentists. Mirfield railway station is less than half a mile away and it is only about 100 yards to the local bus stop which serves the larger towns and cities, including Dewsbury, Wakefield, Leeds, and Huddersfield. Royd Court is close to the motorway network with the M62 less than three miles away and M1 within seven miles.

Within the local area of Mirfield and Dewsbury there is a good selection of churches. Many of the ministers and church leaders support our pastoral work at Royd Court by taking our morning devotions and Sunday afternoon services.
